Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has lost control over the police and he should step down, Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala has said.
He was speaking to reporters here on Sunday.
“Kerala is witnessing State sponsored terror. The police are on the loose. Seven people were shot dead in the State under the communist rule. In the name of hunting Maoist cadres, the government is targeting innocent people and charging them under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Two DYFI workers have been booked under the UAPA. Slapping UAPA for circulating notices is unacceptable,” Mr. Chennithala said. The Leader of the Opposition reiterated the demand for a judicial probe into the encounter killing of four Maoists in Manjakkatti forests in Palakkad.

“Magisterial level inquiries have come to nothing The report of the magisterial level inquiry conducted into the Maoist killings in Nilambur has not yet been submitted to the court. Considering this, there should be a judicial probe into the Attappady incident,” he said.
