Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here on Saturday that the possibility of large number of Keralites being forced to return from Saudi Arabia had diminished following announcement of relaxations to the Nitaqat Law by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Congratulating and thanking the Kingdom for the concessions announced, the Chief Minister said the decisions were on the lines of what the Kerala and Union government had wished. The action of the Saudi government would serve to make the close relationship between India and Saudi Arabia warmer.

Mr. Chandy also congratulated Union Ministers Vayalar Ravi and E. Ahamed and officials of the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia who had held talks with Saudi authorities on the law.
