Celebration to mark record of 100 Years of Chrysostum

Biopic enters Guinness Book as longest documentary

A function will be held here on Monday to celebrate the Guinness Book of World Records entry of 100 Years of Chrysostum , a biographical documentary on Metropolitan Emeritus of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar, Philipose Mar Chrysostum.

The documentary on the 102-year-old Metropolitan was scripted and directed by filmmaker Blessy. Actor Mohanlal who has done the voice-over for the documentary will be the guest of honour. The head of Mar Thoma Church, Joseph Mar Thoma, will deliver the benedictory speech.

The documentary has found an entry in the Guinness Book as the longest documentary film.

Mr. Blessy said the 48-hour and 8 minutes documentary has broken the record of the 21-hour Saudi Arabian documentary

The Hindu that it took seven days for the Censor Board of India to watch the movie. It took four years for Blessy and his crew to complete the documentary.

M. Jayachandran who scored the music of the documentary; K.S. Chitra, playback singer; Benyamin, novelist; K.R. Meera, writer; Stephen Devassy, musician; will address the event to be held at 5.30 p.m. at SC Seminary School grounds.

The function will begin with a Kelikottu by chenda exponent Mattannur Sankarankutty Marar.
