The police registered cases against four suspected cow vigilantes for attacking the occupants of a house at Beripadavu, near Kumbla, on Monday.

The incident unfurled on Sunday evening when a pick-up van transporting a cow from Mangaluru was waylaid by a group of motorcycle-borne youths at Beripadavu. A youth, Abubacker Siddique, tried to take a video of the incident on his mobile phone. Upon seeing this, the motorcyclists barged into his house and attacked him and his parents causing minor injuries to them. They then destroyed Abubacker’s mobile phone.
