Campaign to familiarise EVMs launched

: A campaign to familiarise voters with the electronic voting machine (EVM) has begun in the district under the aegis of the Information and Public Relations Department.

The vehicle tour campaign to familiarise voters with the multi-post EVMs was flagged off by District Collector P. Bala Kiran here on October 26.

The campaign vehicles completed its tour in Muzhappilangad, Dharmadom, Pinarayi, Peralassery, Kadamboor, Chembilode, Anjarakkandy, Koodali and Munderi panchayats on Monday.

The I & PRD officials said that the campaign on Tuesday covered Chittariparamba, Kolayad, Malur, Peravur, Ulikkal and Irikkur.

The tour will conclude in the district on October 28 by visiting Chirakkal, Cheruthazham, Karivellur-Peralam, Kallyasseri, Pappinissery, Kannapuram, Mattul and Madayi.

The vehicle has facilities to demonstrate the use of EVMs and clear doubts of voters, they said.
