Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Friday said that final decisions on unsettled grievances received during his December 16 mass contact programme in the district would be taken by the State cabinet.
Grievances related to Revenue, Transport and Cooperation departments have been settled, all other unsettled grievances related to other departments would be decided during the cabinet meeting, he told reporters emerging from a two-hour long review meeting with senior district officials at the Collectorate conference hall on the follow up actions of his mass contact programme.
The local MLAs and media persons were kept out of the closed door meeting.

To a query on the resignation of P. A. Ahamed, Special Prosecutor looking into the Palmolein case, in which Mr. Chandy was named as an accused, the Chief Minister said the government wanted the official, appointed by previous LDF government, remain in his post. If at all there was any grievance on the investigation of the case, he could have aired the same on earlier occasion.
The UDF would deliberate on the bye-elections to the Piravom Assembly segment during a UDF convention scheduled tomorrow and could make statement only after that, he told reporters who asked about the UDF prospects in the March 18 polls.
During the mass contact programme held on December 16 last, the authorities had received 25,373 applications with quite a few persons learnt to have filed more than one application. The unsettled grievances will be taken up during the upcoming cabinet meeting.

The meeting was attended, among others, by District Collector V. N. Jithendran, Superintendent of Police S. Surendran, ADM H. Dineshan, and District Information Officer K. Abdul Rahman.
