Bridge collapses near Thrissur

The Cochin Bridge constructed by the British to connect erstwhile Malabar and Kochi princely States across Bharathapuzha (now connecting Palakkad and Thrissur districts of Kerala) collapsed on Wednesday at 11.30 a.m.

There was no casualty. No vehicle passed through it at the time of the collapse of this old bridge.

Traffic has been diverted to the new bridge adjacent to it.
