Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers took out a Secretariat march and staged a dharna on Wednesday raising a slew of demands.

Protesting under the aegis of the Kerala ASHA Health Workers Association, they demanded that they be given permanent appointments and a daily wage of Rs.600 with a minimum salary of Rs.18,000 a month, until they are made permanent. They also demanded that move to slash their numbers be abandoned, their incentives be restored, and wages be paid on time.

V.K. Sadanandan, member of the national coordination committee of ASHA workers, inaugurated the march.
