Anila Jacob appointment: Lok Ayukta orders probe

The Lok Ayukta on Friday ordered the State police Crime Branch to investigate and report whether there was any truth in the allegation that the appointment of Anila Jacob, wife of Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob, as Assistant Director of the Kerala State Institute of Languages was an act of misuse of power and nepotism.

Its Division Bench, presided by Pius C. Kuriakose and K.P. Balachandran, directed A. Akbar, Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, to look into the matter.
