Alluring handicrafts at expo

A handicrafts exhibition being organised by the Kerala State Handicrafts Apex Cooperative Society Limited (Surabhi) in the city presents a riot of colours and creativity.

From carved wooden elephants to Dokra metal ornaments, the exhibition-cum-sale at Pandi Samooha Madam Hall in the city displays beautifully crafted artefacts from different parts of the country.

A collection of handloom saris and kurthis is drawing large number of women. There are bed sheets and pillow covers at various ranges. Wooden bangles and Dokra ornaments are trendy.

Etikoppaka toys from Andhra Pradesh, pencil cutters in different shapes, and models of Harley Davidson bikes are there to catch the eyes of children.

There are key chains and wall hangings too. Bamboo articles, handicrafts made of coconut shell, terracotta wind chimes and bamboo items bring alive the eauty of rural crafts.

The fair will conclude on October 14.
