Achuthanandan letter cannot destabilise CPI(M): Pinarayi

Updated - November 16, 2021 06:38 pm IST - THRISSUR:

CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has said that no one need think that they can destabilise the party using the letter written by Opposition Leader V.S. Achuthanandan about a possible CBI investigation into the murder of RMP leader T.P. Chandrasekharan.

Mr. Vijayan was addressing a public meeting after the Kerala Raksha Yatra taken out by him entered the district on Thursday evening.

“The CPI(M) has already made it clear the letter was improper and that it does not subscribe to the party’s view. No one need think that they can witchhunt the CPI(M) using the letter. The UDF has used the letter as a tool. You cannot do anything to the CPI(M),” he said.

He stated that the reason behind Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala raising a hue and cry over the letter written by Mr. Achuthanandan was clear. “Mr. Chennithala is trying hard to hide the shame over not being able to order a CBI investigation. For that matter, the CBI investigation into the murder is against the law,” he said.

He stated that the UDF had cleverly used Mr. Achuthanandan’s letter. Touching upon the forthcoming general elections, he said that BJP leader Narendra Modi would not become the Prime Minister.

“The BJP’s performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be dismal,” he said.
