With the Kerala High Court postponing to March 2 an anticipatory bail petition filed by Sunil Kumar and Vijesh, the key accused in the actor’s abduction case, speculation is rife about their surrendering at any of the judicial courts in Kochi. The duo is believed to be in Tamil Nadu.
The ongoing probe appears to have taken a new turn with the investigators focussing their attention on criminal nexus of the Malayalam film industry.

A police team on Monday reportedly met an actor residing in Aluva and recorded his statements.
While abducting the actor, Suni had claimed it was a quotation. “The focus is on verifying whether it was a quotation by anyone from the film industry or not,”, said a senior officer, member of the Special Investigation Team.
The police found that Suni had been contacting his girl friends while in hiding. They are now inquiring whether any of them had helped him to go in hiding.

The police on Monday interrogated his sister and her husband residing in Perumbavoor.
On Monday night, the police arrested Manikanadan, an accomplice of Suni from a hideout in Palakkad. During interrogation, Manikandan told the police that he had parted ways with Suni and Vijesh after reaching Palakkad.
As per Manikandan’s statement, Suni and others left for Alappuzha soon after the incident and arranged money by pledging a gold chain at a financial institution in Kayamkulam. Later they left for Coimbatore in a taxi and parted ways following a drunken brawl, the police said.
