The family members of freedom fighter and Islamic Sufi scholar Umar Kazi will regroup at Veliyankode, near Ponnani, on May 25.
About 1,000 families living in different parts of the country will gather at Umar Kazi Nagar, Veliyankode, and give shape to various programmes to help the poor.
The programme will begin with a mass ziyarat (visit) at the shrine of Umar Kazi. The Kazi's disobedience to the British diktats has been well documented in the history of the country's freedom struggle.
