Rs 3 crore revenue from Pampa-Nilackal KSRTC chain service

Kerala State Road Transprot Corporation has registered a revenue collection worth Rs 3 crore from its Pampa-Nilackal chain service alone during the just-concluded Mandalam festival, according KSRTC special Officer, Easter Yashica.

Mr Yashica said the corporation has operated 18,000 Pampa-Nilackal chain services during the period.

He said KSRTC has conducted a total of 12,000 long-distance services from its seasonal depot at Pampa during the Mandalam festival.

The largest number of long-distance services were held Pampa to Chengannur and its number has been put at 2700. The corporation had conducted 2000 services to Kottayam from Pampa during the period.

Mr Yashica said the corporation had conducted 1000 each services to Kumily during he period.

He said a total of 250 buses were pressed into service for operating long-distance service.

A total of 85 buses have been pressed into service for the Pampa-Nilackal chain service, besides keeping 35 buses as reserve at the Pampa depot, he added.

Mr Yashica said KSRTC would deploy 140 buses for conducting chain services between Pampa and Nilackal on December 30 afternoon when the Ayyappa Temple opens for the Makaravilakku festival.

The Pampa- Nilackal chain service will continue operation till January 20 when the Ayyappa Temple will be closed after the annual Makaravilakku festival, he said.
