Maudany leaves for Kollam to visit ailing mother

The Supreme Court on Friday granted permission to Mr. Maudany to call on his ailing mother in Kerala.

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and 2008 Bangalore bomb blast case accused Abdul Nasir Maudany arrived at the Cochin International Airport Limited at Nedumbassery near here on Monday afternoon to a jubilant reception of excited party activists.

Mr. Maudan reached the airport by an Air Asia flight at around 1.30 p.m. He was accompanied by wife Soofiya Maudan, younger son Salahuddin Ayyubi, and a personal assistant. Mr. Maudany went straight to the VIP room where he offered the customary afternoon prayer.

PDP activists who had assembled at the airport braving heavy downpour made their presence felt with high-pitched slogans.

Talking to the media persons. Mr. Maudany said that a sliver of justice had started to appear and hoped to get complete justice very soon. He thanked his lawyers, including Prashanth Bhushan.

“I am happy to be back home amidst the people of the State and my parents. I thank the people and the media for whatever justice I have had received till now,” said Mr. Maudany who declined to comment anything more about the court case.

He then left for Kollam to meet his parents.

The Supreme Court on Friday granted permission to Mr. Maudany to call on his ailing mother in Kerala. A bench led by Justice J. Chelameswar allowed Mr. Maudany five days to visit his mother, who is admitted to a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
