Kerala wants Palakkad coach factory to be in public sector

The Kerala Cabinet decided on Wednesday to urge the Railways that the proposed coach factory at Palakkad should be in the public sector.

If it is to be taken up in the joint sector, the value of land acquired by the State government for the project should be treated as the State?s equity in the project.

The Cabinet also decided to call upon the Ministry of Civil Aviation to review the decision to introduce user fee for flights departing from the newly constructed international terminal in Thiruvananthapuram airport.

The Indian army will be given 35 cents in Mulavana village of Kollam district on lease to set up a polyclinic for ex-service men. The lease will be for 30 years. About two acres in Koyipady village of Kasaragod district will be given on to the State Dairy Development Department for setting up a milk chilling cum packing unit.
