September 10, 2009 04:19 pm | Updated 04:19 pm IST - Malappuram:

Several flights from Gulf countries had a delayed landing on Thursday as fog disrupted air traffic for three hours at the International airport at Karippur in Kozhikode.

Most of these flights were diverted to Chennai and Nedumbassery (Kochi) airports, but returned here after the skies cleared, airport sources said. They said the delay was caused in the morning between 6:30 am to 9:30 am.

The Indian Airlines Sharjah-Calicut and Muscat-Calicut flights were diverted to Chennai. Qatar Airways’ Doha-Calicut and Oman Airways’ Muscat-Calicut flights were diverted to Nedumbassery, the sources said.
