The body of a 55-year-old man was found lying near the Alappuzha District Cooperative Bank here in the early hours of Sunday.
According to the Alappuzha South Police, the man, who was later identified as Koya, 55, a resident of the Alissery ward here, was under treatment for heart ailments a couple of weeks back.

His family members said he had the habit of getting inebriated and not returning home in the nights.
The bank security personnel noticed the body lying in an alley next to the bank and alerted the police.
