Renowned artist C. N. Karunakaran has been chosen for the State’s prestigious Raja Ravi Varma award for his contribution in the field of art.
This was disclosed to reporters here on Sunday by culture and education minister M. A. Baby.
S. G. Vasudev, Chairman of the five member committee, which selected Mr. Karunakaran, said he had developed his own intresting style of work.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 1.25 lakh.
Mr. Baby said the award would be presented to Mr. Karunakaran next month at a function in Kochi.
