Adoor Bhavani, veteran actor, passed away at Pannivizha near Adoor on Sunday afternoon. She was 82.
The grand old lady of the Malayalam silver screen had been bedridden due to old-age related ailments since the past one year and had succumbed to her illness at the residence of her son, Rajeevkumar, at Pannivizha around 12.30 pm. She was also suffering from Osteoporosis.
The mortal remains of Bhavani will be kept at Adoor Town Hall at 11 am on Monday for the public to pay homage to the departed soul.

The body will be taken out in a funeral procession to Pannivizha for performing the last rites and the funeral will be held at the residential courtyard of her son, later, at 2 pm.
Born in 1927, Bhavani reached the Malayalam filmdom following the footsteps of younger sister, Adoor Pankajam. `Sheriyo Thetto’ was her first movie. She had as many as 450 films to her credit, besides many dramas, including that of the popular theatre group KPAC. `Oru CBI diary kurippu’ was her last film. `Chemmeen’, `Kadalpaalam’, `Kalli Chellamma’, `Anubhavangal Paalichakal’ and Vazhveymayom’ were her masterpieces.
Bhavani was the recipient of the State Award for best supporting actress in 1969.

Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy honoured both Bhavani and her sister, Pankajom, for their overall contributions to the Malayalam theatre in 2008.
Her husband, Janardhanan Nair passed away in 1997 and she is survived by son, Rajeevkumar.
Anto Antony, MP, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Adoor Prakash, Joseph M.Puthusserry, MLAs, Pandalam Sudhakaran, former minister, actor Suresh Gopi, and film director B.Unnikrishnan were among those who paid homage to the departed soul on Sunday.
