The State Cabinet has directed the Wayanad District Collector to acquire 75 acres of land in the district for establishing the Wayanad centre of the Sree Chitira Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology.
The institute had earlier offered to establish the centre and sought the support of the State government for acquiring land. The decision was announced by the Chief Minister after a special Cabinet meeting held here on Tuesday.
The Kerala Irrigation Infrastructure Development Corporation (KIIDC) will be revamped. The Principal Secretary of the Water Resources Department has been asked to prepare a report for the revival of the corporation.

The draft of the Kerala Small Hydel Power Policy was approved by the State Cabinet.
The posts of four drug inspectors will be created for the traditional medicinal branches of Ayurveda, Sidha and Yunani.
The salary and allowances of the employees of the Kerala Institute for Local Administration, Thrissur, will be revised.

The district collectors were directed to complete the land acquisition for laying the pipeline of the LNG project of the Gas Authority of India Limited.
Adequate compensation will be provided to the land owners.
Though land would be acquired for the project, the owners of the holdings will have possession of the land, Mr. Chandy said.
A revenue tower would be constructed at the 35.5 are puramboke land at Haripad. The holding will be leased out to the Kerala State Housing Board for construction of the building, Mr. Chandy said.
