The Nedumkandam police led by sub -inspector B.K.Muraleedaran have sized 10 kilogram of ganja and arrested three persons in this connection. The seizure was made on Tuesday night at Manjappara area where the police were on a routine checking of vehicles and intercepted a car carrying the counter band items.
The police said that the ganja was hidden in the car and was packed in three bags. The preliminary inquiry reveled that the ganja was aimed to reach at a spot in Mele Chinnar. Those arrested were Pampadumpara Pulimoottil Nazar 34, Ottappalam residents Ambalakulangara K.K.Hamid, 27 and Pazhamkulam Safeer Ali, 27.
They were produced before the first class judicial magistrate court at Nedumkandam and have been remanded. The police said that the source of the ganja will be known only after detailed inquiry. There might have been more persons behind this, they said.
