Karti Chidambaram, son of senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram, on Thursday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in New Delhi in connection with the probe into the INX Media money laundering case , registered in May last
His authorised representative had met the Investigating Officer (IO) of the case twicw and the ED now asked him to appear personally before the officer.
The ED registered the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), its equivalent to a police FIR, against the accused named in a CBI complaint, including Mr. Chidambaram, INX Media and its directors, Peter and Indrani Mukerjea, under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The ED was probing the alleged “proceeds of crime” generated in this case, sources said.
