The special Central Bureau of Investigation Judge, J.T. Utpat, hearing the Tulsiram Prajapati-Sohrabuddin alleged fake encounter cases, was transferred on Thursday.

The order comes less than a week after the judge reprimanded counsel of the BJP leader Amit Shah for filing an exemption application without citing any grounds. Mr. Shah is an accused in the two cases, whose trials have been clubbed together by the Supreme Court.

The judge was scheduled to pass his order on the discharge application filed by Mr. Shah in the case. But with the transfer of the judge, the matter has been adjourned to July 2.
