JD (U) renominates Sharad Yadav for Madhepura

Filmmaker Prakash Jha, industrialist Anil Kumar Sharma and party president Sharad Yadav figure in the second list of the Janata Dal-United candidates for the Lok Sabha polls in Bihar that was released in Delhi Sunday.

A day after the JD (U) announced the first list of six candidates, Sharad Yadav named the candidates for the remaining 32 parliamentary constituencies.

While filmmaker Prakash Jha has been nominated for the West Champaran seat, Anil Kumar Sharma, chairman and managing director of Amrapali Group of industries, has been fielded from the Jehanabad constituency. Party president Sharad Yadav will contest from Madhepura.

The party has given tickets to its sitting parliamentarians — Sharad Yadav from Madhepura, Ram Sunder Das from Hajipur, Arjun Rai from Sitamarhi, Dinesh Chandra Yadav from Khagaria, Ranjan Prasad Yadav from Patliputra, and Meena Singh from the Ara constituency.

Mr. Yadav will contest against Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Pappu Yadav, and Ram Sundar Das will contest against Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan.

It has also given tickets to new entrants, including Akhtarul Iman from Kishanganj, Ghulam Ghous from Madhubani, and Abu Qaiser from Bhagalpur.
