Israel's Ambassador Alon Usphiz met External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna on Wednesday and discussed the Israeli embassy car bomb explosion, in which a woman diplomat was critically injured, and the progress in the investigation.
“The meeting was a very good one. It is just another shining example of support, friendship and intimacy that we have been lucky to be exposed to in the past 48 hours since this very saddening vicious terrorist attack on one of our people took place here in the heart of New Delhi,” Mr. Usphiz told journalists after the meeting.
As for the condition of the diplomat Tal Yehoshua, 40, Mr. Usphiz said: “I can say that there is a constant improvement, a gradual but constant improvement in the condition of our friend.”

Mr. Usphiz said the “heart-warming” support from the government and the people of India following the attack reflects the strong partnership between India and Israel. “Really, the support we got from the Indian people and the Indian leadership is heart-warming and is strengthening us in our strong dedication to continue to do whatever we can in order to promote the… relations between two important partners — India and Israel.”
Sources said that after the blast, the Israeli Embassy sought more protection and the government assured it of all assistance.
Mr. Usphiz informed Mr. Krishna that his country wanted to send a team, including forensic experts and others. Mr. Krishna said India would welcome it.
