India has increased the number of scholarships to 150 offered to Omani students under a bilateral assistance programme.

“In 2011—12, the number of scholarships under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme was only 50. Now, from April 1, it will become 150, which will be a 200 per cent increase,” Indian Ambassador to Oman J S Mukul said.

He urged the Omani government and institutes to utilise to the maximum extent the programmes offered by India, the Times of Oman reported.
