Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said here on Tuesday that if he had anything to say on the Finance Ministry note to the Prime Minister's Office on the 2G spectrum allocation, he would do so only after talking to the Prime Minister and his colleagues.

“If anything is to be told in respect of the Finance Ministry note which has been obtained through an RTI (Right to Information) application and which has been placed before the Supreme Court, [only] after talking to the Prime Minister and after talking to my other colleagues I will make my comment,” he told journalists here.

Mr. Mukherjee had met Congress president Sonia Gandhi, and is believed to have discussed the issue with her on Monday evening in New Delhi after returning from the U.S.

He pointed out that he had said on Monday on his arrival that, “So long as the Prime Minister is outside India, I would not like to make any comment on the Finance Ministry note which has been placed before the court after being obtained through an RTI application.”

“The Prime Minister is coming back this [Tuesday] evening; I am going back to Delhi tomorrow [Wednesday] evening after which I will be talking to the Prime Minister,” Mr. Mukherjee said.
