Gowda condoles Kurien’s death

The former Prime Minister, H. D. Deve Gowda, has condoled the death of father of the White Revolution Verghese Kurien on Sunday.

In a condolence letter sent to Kurien’s wife, Molly Kurien, Mr. Gowda said Kurien’s contribution for the uplift of the rural masses, particularly in Gujarat and Karnataka, through the dairy development movement, was immense and incomparable.

Mr. Gowda, who is also the Janata Dal (Secular) president, said Kurien had left an indelible mark forever, through his contribution to the nation, in improving the living standard of farmers through the White Revolution, for which he had struggled very hard all his life.
