Governor grants sanction to prosecute Yeddyurappa

Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa submitting his resignation to Karnataka Governor H.R. Bhardwaj in Bangalore on Sunday.

Karnataka Governor H.R. Bhardwaj on Wednesday granted sanction to the Lokayukta to prosecute outgoing Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa as sought by the former in the report on illegal mining.

This is the second time in recent months that Mr. Bhardwaj has favoured granting sanction to prosecute Mr. Yeddyurappa.

The outgoing Chief Minister has challenged in the Karnataka High Court the Lokayukta's recommendation.
