BJP president Amit Shah said dialogue would be possible in Jammu and Kashmir only after stone-throwing and violent protests ended.
“Once violence ends and an atmosphere of dialogue is created, we will talk to every one,” he told PTI. “We have said we will start dialogue once stone-throwing stops. As long as there is stone-throwing, there cannot be any dialogue. We cannot give them flowers if they throw stones. They will have to understand it.”
Mr. Shah said he was satisfied with the performance of the PDP-BJP government. The Agenda of Alliance that the two parties worked out for running the government speaks of talks with all stakeholders to resolve the issue.

He said the State government had done well in developing infrastructure. For the first time, people of Jammu and Ladakh felt that they got “justice.”
“You cannot assess the situation in Kashmir by picking one stretch of six months. You will have to see the entire period from 1989 to May 2017,” he said.
