Cash-for-vote: police plea for supplementary charge sheet

February 10, 2012 11:28 pm | Updated November 17, 2021 12:49 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The Delhi police on Friday told a court here that it might file the transcripts of the CD of the sting operation in the 2008 cash-for-vote scam case as a supplementary charge sheet.

After Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal asked the Crime Branch to supply the transcripts of the CD, copies of the CD, the forensic lab report and other documents in the case by April 30, Public Prosecutor Rajiv Mohan said the Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory-certified CD transcripts cannot be filed as a loose document and therefore, it may be filed in form of another supplementary charge-sheet.

But the Public Prosecutor added that this would not have anything to do with the probe in the case.

The court's order came after counsel for Amar Singh, BJP MP Ashok Argal and others told the judge that they have not received all the documents, transcripts of the CD, and call records.

After former BJP MP Faggan Singh Kulaste filed an application seeking call records of Mr. Amar Singh and others, the court asked the police to file a reply on April 30.
