India-Pakistan talks will be held as scheduled: Antony

The July 13 Mumbai blasts would, in no wayderail India's efforts to improve relations with neighbouring countries. Neither would the blasts affect the tempo of the peace process with Pakistan, Defence Minister A.K. Antony told reporters here on Sunday.

Mr. Antony said the talks proposed to be held later this month between External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna and his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar would take place as scheduled.

On the blasts, the Minister said there would be no compromise on the crackdown already launched to trace the culprits. Whoever was behind the blast, whether they were within India or outside, would be traced and brought before the law.

There was no pre-determined angle for the investigation into the blasts and no particular organisation was being targeted.

The entire country was on an alert and the Navy and Coast Guard were asked to strengthen their vigil along the coast as well.
