Taking its campaign against the Mayawati government on the 100 alleged scams to the next level, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to present “documentary evidence” as well as a compact disc to Governor B.L. Joshi.
The president of the Uttar Pradesh unit of the BJP, Surya Pratap Shahi, said here on Monday that a party delegation would meet the Governor on June 1 and impress upon him the need for a high-level inquiry into the alleged scams and take appropriate action against the government.
A CD on the alleged scandals was released by Mr. Shahi and the national secretary of the BJP, Kirit Somaiya, at the BJP headquarters here on Monday. A booklet on the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government's ‘scams' had been released in April.

“Apart from presenting the Governor with the CD and other evidence related to the scams, a memorandum demanding justice for the farmers of Bhatta-Parsaul villages in Greater Noida would be presented to Mr. Joshi,” Mr. Shahi told reporters.
The State BJP chief alleged that pressure was being exerted on the management of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh School in Greater Noida by persons close to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati to vacate the land for building a five-star hotel. The land for the school was allotted about 15 years back, he said.

Stating that the BSP's dharna and demonstration proposed against the petrol price hike on May 31 was ‘an eyewash,' Mr. Shahi wanted to know whether the BSP would support a no-confidence motion against the government if it was brought by the Opposition parties.
Mr. Somaiya said the CD would be distributed in all the villages.
Common man affected
Claiming that the 100 ‘scams' amounted to Rs. 2.54 lakh crore, Mr. Somaiya alleged that the common man was affected by the scandals.
On the Rs. 5000 crore farmhouse ‘scandal' in Noida, the BJP was able to procure the names and details of two companies, through RTI, which were allotted farmhouses built on land whose use pattern had been changed from “acquired for industrial purposes.” These companies were Kunal Infratech Private Limited and Great Value Buildwell Private Limited.
“The paid-up capital of the two companies based in Agra and New Delhi respectively was Rs. one lakh and they were registered in 2010,” Mr. Somaiya said. He alleged that one-third allotment was “benami.”
