“In Kannur, a CPI (M) leader has been apprehended for a murder,” he said, adding that the “politics of murder” has become a pattern in Kerala.

Police said some CPI (M) sympathisers have been taken into custody for questioning.

While the Left party has described the incident as a fallout of a local issue, BJP leaders in Kannur have alleged that CPI (M) was behind the attack.
