“The terrorist attack on Pakistan's high-security naval base PNS Mehran in Karachi has once again shown that no sensitive installation in that country can be considered to be safe. And its nuclear arsenal stockpile could fall into wrong and dangerous hands,” said BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy, on Tuesday.
Saying that it was imperative that Pakistan be de-nuclearised, Mr. Rudy pointed out that over the last two years, there have been several terrorist attacks on different military facilities in Pakistan: on March 8, 2011 in Faisalabad where 32 persons were killed; a month earlier in February at the Mardan Army Recruitment Centre where 31 were killed; last year in March terrorists struck twice in Lahore — once at the army cantonment and the second time at the Lahore headquarters of the Federal Investigative Agency and in December 2009, the heavily guarded naval headquarters in Islamabad was attacked. “This poses a danger not only to India but also to this region and the entire world,” Mr. Rudy said.
