A Kerala Police team has brought Bitti Mohanty, convicted in the German tourist rape case, from Kannur to Jaipur and handed him over to authorities of the Central Jail here.
He will be produced in a city court on Monday in connection with his jumping of parole in 2006 while serving the seven-year sentence after his conviction in the rape case.
The court had issued production warrants against Bitti in the parole-jumping case soon after he was arrested on March 8 this year in Kannur, where he was living in disguise, working as a probationary officer in a public sector bank, with the name of Raghav Rajan from Andhra Pradesh. The police also found that he had joined a college under the same name and obtained an MBA degree.

A team of the Rajasthan Police went over to Kerala to bring him to the city, but the Kerala Police did not hand him over as they themselves were investigating the case.
The four-member team of the Kerala Police left for Rajasthan with Bitti by train on Thursday and reached here on Saturday evening. After completing the formalities at the Transport Nagar police station, it handed him over to the jail authorities.
Bitti, son of the former Odisha Director-General of Police, B.B. Mohanty, was lodged in the Jaipur jail after he was awarded seven-year imprisonment in the rape case by a sessions court in Alwar in April 2006. In November 2006, he secured parole for 15 days to meet his ailing mother, but did not return.
