The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday sought to deny the Mudgal panel’s conclusion that its former president N. Srinavasan and four other officials had failed to take action against a player of the Indian Premier League for violating the IPL code of conduct.
The cricketing body said Player no. 3 (name undisclosed) had been orally reprimanded after then BCCI chief Shashank Manohar found the violation to be minor in nature and the player’s explanation prima facie satisfactory.
The BCCI working committee met on Tuesday to discuss the Mudgal panel report, said BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel. The BCCI said: “Reprimand is a penalty contemplated under the Regulations for Players, Team officials, Managers, Umpires and Administrators of BCCI Code 2008.”

Under these circumstances, the BCCI said, the conclusion that none of the officials including Mr. Srinivasan took any action against the Player no. 3 was incorrect.
