Alleges no action is being taken because of his high position

The 22 year-old woman who accused IAS officer B.B. Mohanty of sexual exploitation has demanded a high-level probe in the matter. The victim, in an interaction with media on Sunday, said no action was being taken against Mr. Mohanty because of his high position.

“He continues to hold his post [chairman of the Rajasthan Civil Services Appellate Tribunal] and no action has been taken against him. I urge the government to set up a high level probe in the matter and take action against him [Mr. Mohanty],” said the victim.

Asked why she had demanded security but not taken it later, the victim said she did not trust anyone. She said while the police had initially offered support to her, it had not done anything over the last two days. She said her family had been receiving threats but she had not received any directly.

Last week, the Jaipur Police registered a FIR, on a court order, against Mr. Mohanty after the woman, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, accused Mr. Mohanty of repeatedly raping her over the last 11 months on the pretext of helping her prepare for the civil service examinations.

Since then, while there has not been any denial from the officer himself, his family has come out in his defence. Meeta Mohanty, his wife, has alleged he was being framed by the girl.

On Wednesday and then on Friday, the police took the girl to the officer's house in Vaishali Nagar for verification but his family did not let the police team in.
