A court in Gurugram on Monday dismissed the bail application of the juvenile accused in the case of murder of a seven-year-old student of a prominent private school and imposed a fine of ₹21,000 on the appellant for wasting its time in “baseless” litigation.
The court directed the media to use henceforth the imaginary names used in the judgment to refer to the persons or the facts of the case.
Rejecting the bail application of “Bholu”, the imaginary name of the juvenile accused, Additional Sessions Judge Jasbir Singh Kundu, in his order, said that “there was no ground for the default bail of the appellant at this stage”.

'Devoid of merits'
The court said the appeal was not only devoid of merits, but also called for dismissal with costs. The appellant knew well that a prayer for a default bail was premature and had still moved the bail taking valuable 28 days out of the 90 days of the investigating agency.
“To conclude, the conduct of the appellant indicates that he is taking court proceedings for a joy ride. He has indulged in wasting precious court time in baseless litigation on account of which seven court proceedings have gone down the drain,” the court said.

It directed that the fine of ₹21,000 (₹3,000 for each of the seven proceedings) be deposited by the juvenile accused through his father within three months.
The court said the proceedings would be conducted in-camera. It used “Prince” as the imaginary name of the seven-year-old victim and “Vidyalya” for his school.
The Juvenile Justice Board had also rejected the bail application of the juvenile accused on December 15.
