ACB initiates probe into bribery charge against Kejriwal

Lieutenant Governor has demanded a serious inquiry into the complaint against the Chief Minister and a report on the same within seven days.

Even as he was scheduled to appear before it to hand over additional “evidence”, including what sources claimed were “additional names from the Delhi Cabinet”, the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) initiated an inquiry into the bribery charge levelled by sacked Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra against Chief Miniser Arvind Kejriwal on Monday.

According to a source, the inquiry was initiated on the basis of a complaint by Mr. Mishra, alleging that Mr. Kejriwal received ₹.2 crore from his Cabinet colleague Satyendar Jain in his presence on Friday.

The sacked Water and Tourism Minister handed over his compliant to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Sunday and the Raj Niwas forwarded it to the ACB on Monday.

According to the source, the Lieutenant Governor has demanded a serious inquiry into the complaint and a report on the same within seven days.
