YSRC MLAs have lost confidence in Jagan: Palle

Minister for I & PR and IT Palle Raghunatha Reddy termed the crossing over of YSRCP MLAs to the TDP camp as “lack of confidence” in their party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Mr. Reddy reiterated that the TDP was not encouraging defections in the YSRC either by luring them with positions or money. He said Mr. Jagan had failed miserably during the last two years as Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly and he had no right to talk of corruption.

Giving details of his review meeting with officials on various activities such as Neeru-Chettu, Panta Sanjeevani, etc., Mr. Reddy said it was decided to dig 2.5 lakh soak pits and 50,000 farm ponds under the Panta Sanjeevani scheme in the district.

On irrigation projects, he said that structural works on Thotapalli was completed and proposed construction of 15 more structures on irrigation canals at a cost of Rs.5 crore. To avoid delay in the completion of Tarakarama Theertha Sagar, he said fresh bids, if necessary, would be invited for execution of tunnel at railway track. He said that NABARD grant of Rs. 175 crore would be utilised for completion of CPW schemes in 302 villages, including Narsipuram, Jamadala, S. Kota, Pachipenta, and added that tribal sub-plan grants for water facility in Agency area of the district. At present, there was no drinking water problem in the district, he claimed.
