The Telugu Desam Party has alleged that the ruling Congress, in collusion with the YSR Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, is planning to impose President’s Rule in the State for ensuring passage of the separate Telangana Bill.
TDP senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu suspected that the Congress wanted to keep the Assembly in suspended animation as it was doubtful whether the Bill for dividing the State would be passed by the Legislative Assembly. “The Congress, the YSRC and the TRS have conspired to ensure that the decision on State bifurcation is taken bypassing the Assembly,” he said. He said, in a statement, that the suspicion arose from the comments being made by TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the YSRC MLAs and Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal pointing towards the possibility of imposing President’s rule in the State. Setting aside the Sarkaria Commission’s recommendations and imposing President’s rule would set a bad precedent and it would amount to insulting the Assembly, representing the voice of the people of the State.
Mr. Ramakrishnudu cited the claims of YSRC honorary president Y.S. Vijayalakshmi that her party knew in advance about the Centre’s decision on bifurcation of the State clearly exposed the YSRC’s collusion with the Congress.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, TDP MLC Y.B. Rajendra Prasad cautioned the joint action committees fighting for the united State against the motives behind YSR Congress that was frequently changing its stand on the bifurcation issue.
