Woman poisons two children, self

A woman poisoned her two children and attempted to commit suicide at Kothapet here on Saturday morning.

The two children-- Jogi Priyanka, 9 and Durga Kumar, 5-- have been diagnosed with congenital defects related to speech and hearing. One of them, the elder girl has been undergoing treatment at a private hospital at Kothapet and showing signs of recovery. The woman allegedly mixed rat poison in a sweetener and gave it to the children in the morning.

Later, she consumed it herself. Locals, after noticing some commotion at the house, informed the police who shifted them to GGH. Doctors declared the girl brought dead and the boy died while undergoing treatment. The woman was kept in ICU.
