Will return fertile lands to farmers: Jagan

June 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 11:15 am IST - MANGALAGIRI:

YSR Congress will fight against ‘TDP misrule’, he says. The presence of a large number of women invigorated Mr. Jagan to launch a tirade against Mr. Naidu.

YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy at his Samara Deeksha at Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Thursday.

Launching a scathing attack on TDP government as it completes a year in office, YSR Congress president Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday asserted that the wave of popular upsurge against the government would drown Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

“We do not know if this government survives one year or two years, but I am sure that we will form the next government in the State. TDP will not secure deposits in the next election. We will ensure all fertile lands acquired forcefully for building the Capital will be given back to farmers,’’ said Mr. Jagan in a rousing speech as he wound up his 48-hour Samara Deeksha here.

Beginning his address by playing a few videos of speeches made by Mr. Naidu during the election campaign in May last year on digital screens, Mr. Jagan said Mr. Naidu had shown his true colours by admitting that it would not be possible to fulfil election promises.

Accusing Mr. Naidu of uttering lies to cover up his failures, Mr. Jagan asked: ``has he not fooled farmers by promising them waiver of all their outstanding crop loans? Has he not fooled DWCRA women by assuring to waive all their loans? Even he has not spared students promising them jobs and unemployment allowance.’’

He said: ‘‘One of TDP MLAs was caught bribing a TRS MLA with Rs. 5 crore. Where is Mr. Naidu getting money to buy MLAs? Is he mobilising Rs. 90 crore to buy 18 MLAs?’’ Mr. Jagan asked.

The presence of a large number of women invigorated Mr. Jagan to launch a tirade against Mr. Naidu. “We will continue to agitate and fight for people and ensure that Mr. Naidu fulfils at least some of his promises. From now on, he will only have sleepless nights and I vow to continue the fight against this misrule,’’ Mr. Jagan said.
