Will it be Jai Samaikyandhra Party?

If everything works out as per the plan, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy could make the grandiose announcement after the Parliament session ends.

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, in all likelihood, would narrow down his choice for the new party between Jai Samaikyandhra Party or Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Samiti.

Highly-placed sources said the Chief Minister, after putting in his papers, is likely to hold another round of consultations with his close aides before formally announcing the new party.

“We have zeroed in on Jai Samaikyandhra Party and Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Samiti, which reflects the aim of the Chief Minister’s fight for united AP,” a top Congress leader, who has been closely working towards formation of the party, told The Hindu on Sunday night.

Three symbols

If everything works out as per the plan, Mr. Reddy could make the grandiose announcement after the Parliament session ends. Camp followers of the Chief Minister say they have identified at least three possible symbols -- kite, mobile and footwear -- for the new outfit. “The new party will not confine itself to Seemandhra region but contest seats in Telangana, too. It will have a pan-Andhra Pradesh presence,” the sources said.

Leaders close to the CM feel Mr. Reddy will fill the vacuum that has been created by the dilly-dallying tactics of TDP and YSRC. “His struggle to ensure that the bifurcation is stalled will enhance his credibility,” a source added.
