We will wage a battle against TDP, says BJP

Our fight will be on people’s behalf, it says

Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao said here on Wednesday the BJP would be forced to wage a battle against the Andhra Pradesh government on the people’s behalf if it refused to take the financial assistance which the Central government was prepared to extend.

He media persons that it was money which the NDA government was giving for development of the State but not to the TDP and if the State government refused to take it, it would tatamount to “blocking”.

The State government should, therefore, avail itself of the Central assistance by setting up a special purpose vehicle if it was truly committed to the welfare of the masses, he said.

Referring to the statement of Visakhapatnam North MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju that proof of the corruption in the Pattiseema project would be submitted to the CBI soon, Mr. Rao said it was up to the Central government to take decisions in such matters.

Mr. Rao said the BJP was not contemplating to forge an alliance with any party in A.P. as it’s intention was to grow on its own and strive for development. Even if no party cooperated with it, the BJP would try to fulfil its mandate.

‘Loose coalition’

At the national level, the BJP was not worried about reports of the so-called Federal Front taking shape as it was a loose coalition of parties which tend to pull in different directions whereas the BJP was on an election-winning spree.

In Karnataka, Telugu people would be playing a major role in the BJP’s victory, he affirmed.
