YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy wondered if the former Chief Minister and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu had no plan of owning a house in the capital region which he promised to build into a global city.
Mr. Reddy was commenting on Mr. Naidu’s request of allotting ‘Praja Vedika’ adjacent to his private residence as the official residence of the Leader of the Opposition and a former CM on Twitter.
“Expected that Mr. Naidu’s first letter to CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would be on the problems being faced by the people of the State,” he said and added that Mr. Naidu, instead, seemed to be concerned over his lavish house.

‘Not the first letter’
“It appears that Mr. Naidu who promised to bring the world to Amaravati had no plan to build his own house,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, supporters of Mr. Naidu posted a copy of the letter Mr. Naidu wrote to Mr. Jagan on May 30 before the swearing-in ceremony. In the letter (on TDP letterhead), Mr. Naidu congratulated Mr. Jagan and asked him to focus on the welfare of the poor and overall development.

Giving a retort to Mr. Vijayasai Reddy’s tweet, former Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said the letter by Mr. Naidu was not his first to the Chief Minister.
He suggested that Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy remember that Mr. Naidu had congratulated Mr. Jagan through a letter on the eve of his swearing-in, and promised to extend cooperation as a responsible Opposition party.
Mr. Ramakrishnudu said in a press release that it was unfortunate that the MP sought to politicise his (Mr. Naidu’s) request to declare the Praja Vedika an annex to his residence at Undavalli.
As the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Naidu wanted to utilise the Praja Vedika to meet people and others seeking an audience with him, but Mr. Vijayasai Reddy belittled the former Chief Minister by raking up a controversy over his plea for allotment of the said building for his official purposes, he said.
