Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths caught a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) red-handed, when the latter was accepting a bribe of Rs. 6,000 from a farmer for giving him a pattadar passbook, at Tokapalli village near Pedaraveedu on Saturday.
ACB DSP (Ongole) R.V.S.N. Murthy said that the farmer, K.Subba Rao, had earlier paid Rs 2,000 to the VRO.
With the latter refusing to give him the passbook which was issued by Tehsildar in September, he had approached the ACB sleuths, who laid a trap and arrested the VRO.
