VRO caught accepting bribe

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Monday morning caught the Village Revenue Officer (VRO) of Chilamattur village of Varadaiahpalem mandal, Bhaskar, red-handed while receiving a bribe from a farmer and seized Rs 8,000 from him.

According to officials, the VRO demanded Rs 10,000 from a farmer, Amarendra, for entering his pattadar passbook details in 1B schedule. The farmer approached the ACB officials on Sunday night, leading to the apprehending of Bhaskar this morning right in front of the Tehsildar office at Varadaiahpalem mandal headquarters. A case was booked in this regard.
